If your looking to buy a new set of computer speakers then you need to know what to look for before parting with your money. In this article I am going to look at the main considerations before you should spend any money. Specifically the most important aspects are your budget,Sound quality, what you need the speakers for and finally brand. By the end of this article you should be able to purchase a decent set of computer speakers that reflect your budget and give you the best possible system for your needs whilst avoiding all the pitfalls.

The first thing you should consider of course is how much you have to spend on your new computer speakers as this does drive many of the other decisions you will make. Athough it may not be as simple as cheap verses expensive, very few have an unlimited budget. You could spend $10 on a set of computer speakers, but frankly it wont be money well spent. Moreover spending $700 on a set of computer speakers is equally a waste of money. If your on a tight budget I would suggest spending around $200 which will still get you a very good system indeed. If you can afford to spend more then the Bose Companion 3 series ii are well worth a look.Sound quality can be broken down into several areas,Clarity of highs and mids and depth of bass. In order to get an idea of what a speaker system should sound like in an ideal situation, its worth popping to your local
‘high end’hifi shop and listen to some of their very expensive speaker systems;notice how you can place the instruments separately as each sound is made. A good system should be capable of high volume without distortion. The treble should not sound harsh to the ears, and the mids should sound clear and bright. Remember what you have listened too is what is near to perfect that money can buy. Unfortunately you will not get the same level of sound quality from a set of computer speakers, however it will give you a good idea of what to listen too when you audition different sets of computer speakers. My recommendation is to go to your local computer store to audition them, and then
to purchase online cheaply from a large retailer you can trust like Amazon.

Ok so why do you actually need new speakers? This is very important to think about before spending any money on a set of computer speakers. If you need them to watch films in your apartment then a 5.1 type system would be your best option, however if its for music and the occasional youtube video in your office, then a 2.1 system would be more than adequate. Finally you need to think about brand choice. For me I would stick to one of the main brands like Bose,Logitech and Harman Kardon. Simply because you know with these brands you a getting a well made product and that should something go wrong these companies are prepared to work with you to sort
it out. Of these brands the main options are The Bose Companion 3 Series ii,the Logitech z2300,the Harmon Kardon Sound Sticks ii,or the Logitech X-540 and last but not least the Logitech z-5500.
In conclusion you should now have the tools you need to sit down and seriously think about the set of computer speakers that would work best for you.
